Overview

Shin Hahn is a litigation partner in the Business Trial Practice Group in the firm's New York office. Shin is also a member of the firm’s International Arbitration group. 

Areas of Practice

Shin has extensive experience in general commercial litigation, both in state and federal courts in the United States. Shin’s practice also focuses on international arbitration proceedings held under the rules of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the American Arbitration Association (AAA), and the International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR). Shin regularly advises domestic companies and foreign companies in litigation, arbitration, white collar investigation, and regulatory proceedings in connection with cross-border disputes, contract disputes, tort litigation, and enforcement actions in the United States. Shin also has experience in advising financial institutions on bank regulatory inquiries from banking regulators such as the Federal Reserve Bank and the New York State Department of Financial Services.

Shin is a native speaker in Korean and frequently represents Korean companies in a wide variety of legal matters in U.S.

  • Representation of a French distributor of artificial heart pumps in an ICC arbitration;
  • Representation of a Korean bank in connection with a potential US sanctions violation;
  • Representation of a Korean bank in connection with a bank regulatory enforcement action;
  • Representation of U.S. companies in connection with investigations conducted by the Department of Justice;
  • Representation of a financial advisor in connection with an SEC investigation.
